GOALS FOR 2016 - 5 MONTHS ON

Way back in January, I shared my goals for 2016 with you all. Seeing as though we are now 5 months into 2016 - 5 months, can you believe it?! - I thought that I would take a little look back at the goals I set and see how I'm getting on with them! *Don't panic Laura, there's still another 7 months left*

1. Get Fit
So when I wrote this back in January, I really wasn't expecting any miracles. I know myself too well by now to think I'll ever be a gym bunny, and as expected, I'm still not a member *shudders at the thought of it*. I have however found a way of working out which works for me and it's all thanks to the wonders of Youtube. Since the beginning of the year, I've been doing ab workout videos to try and tone up my stomach. I know it's not the most strenuous of exercise, but it's a start right? The real change came just over a month ago when I discovered (through my Mam!) Yoga with Adriene. Since then I have been practicing yoga on pretty much a daily basis and have noticed such an improvement in my strength, posture and balance. I'm so happy that I have found a form of exercise that I actually enjoy doing, and I'm currently making my way through the 30 Days of Yoga series - Day 19 complete!

 2. Be a Better Blogger
This is the goal that I think I still need to work on the most! I was on a good run for the first three months of the year, but then I dwindled off a little due to personal reasons. I've now got myself sorted out and I am full of ideas and looking forward to creating lots of new content, lets see how long it lasts this time..

 3. Read More Books
I'm currently on my tenth book of the year, which I don't think is bad going! However I haven't really branched out into different genres like I said I was going to, I do still need to work on that. A couple of books that I have really enjoyed so far this year are The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson and Follow You Home by Mark Edwards - definitely worth checking out.

4. A Line a Day
This is probably the goal that I'm most surprised that I've managed to keep up with! My Line a Day for 3 Years journal is still going strong and is completely up to date! I rarely stick to anything like this, but I think that the thought of looking back over it in 3 years time is keeping me going - it will be so cool to see what I was doing/thinking on the exact same day three years ago!

5. Make Time for Me
I think that this goal is one that I have fulfilled more than I ever thought I would. I haven't done exactly what I set out to do, I've probably achieved it in a way that is so much better! As of September, I'm going to be a university student - eeek! At last, two years after all of my friends headed off to uni, I have finally discovered what I'm passionate about and what I really want to do with my life and I can't wait to start a brand new chapter! Well done me *pat on the back for Laura*.

How are your goals for 2016 coming along so far?!

    1. Thank you! It's so easy to get out of the habit of reading isn't it?! A couple other books I've really enjoyed are Station Eleven by Emily St John Mandel and the Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver, if you're looking for any more recommendations!
